Follow these tips and host the perfect poker party for you and your friends!
The Law goes first: First, and most importantly, know your local laws. Don’t play for cash if it’s not legal.
Players (indeed you need players): 7 or 8 make for a great game.
If you have more than 10 players then you’ll need to split into two tables or play will be too slow.
What about staging? Lighting, some sports at the background and of course don’t forget the upbeat music.
Poker chips. No matter what kind of chips you use (preferably in four colours), make sure you have enough. A minimum of 35 chips per player is good enough. 50 to 100 chips per player are even better.
A suitable table so you can all sits comfortably round it. For a really fancy game there are some nice table-tops that go over your own table, a cheaper option is some green baize which you can buy the roll.
Packs of cards. use brand-new decks of cards. Proper poker cards have nice clear numbers as people need to be able to read them from the other side of the table.
Food!!! Beer, snacks, please!
A dealer button. You can buy actual dealer buttons, or just use something distinctive. These are used to keep track of the “dealer”
The game. Make sure everyone knows the rules ahead of time.
Remember to have fun, spend time with good friends, and make sure everyone’s eager to come back to the next game night.
